A vast amount of data is added and stored in organisations’ databases every day. Experts predict that the total volume of databases will multiply each year, given the constant increase in data volumes. This means that organisations need to invest more and more in the processing, storage and back-up of data.

One solution for balancing the amount of investment required is to archive the older data no longer in active use.

Infore Archives has developed a system for the digital archiving of databases. The data will be preserved for the required period, whereas the data can be updated regardless of the particular database platform used.

Although Infore is working on developing a standardised solution, database archiving is usually a customised service, with its exact nature and future design defined in cooperation with the customer.

Database archiving creates multiple opportunities for continued cooperation with customers. For example, it is possible to create a statistical reporting environment, based on the archive base platform, and use it to provide information services to the end-customer. But there are many other opportunities for cooperation.

Services related to database archiving:

  • Detailed analysis of databases;
  • Configuration of the Infore Enterprise Archive archiving system;
  • Creation of data loaders between systems and the archive;
  • Creation of reporting systems;
  • Creation of data repositories on the archive base platform;
  • Preparation of reports and queries.
