EMC SourceOne e-mail archiving PDF Print

Electronic mail, or email, is a part of our daily correspondence and the total volume of email communication is many times larger than the amount of messages exchanged on paper. In the eyes of the law and in courts, emails are considered equivalent to letters on paper.

We offer an email archiving solution in the form of Infore e-Mail Archive which combines the EMC SourceOne application logic and the EMC Centera archiving array.

This solution is compatible with the Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Domino email servers, and allows the customer to define in the email client settings (Outlook, Notes) which documents should be archived. The results of a query in the archives are also displayed through the email application, together with the vital information about the email metadata generated automatically or entered by the user.

We recommend that you use the Infore e-Mail Archive soluton so that archiving client is installed locally in the customer’s environment, but the archived information is stored in Infore’s archive servers. This set-up will considerably reduce the investment in technology (no need to buy archiving hardware, obtain administration competence, or create back-up copies) and will increase the probability that your data is preserved, because Infore’s archives are usually maintained with a higher level of care than a single customer can reasonably be expected to provide with their own resources.
