IEA is the primary core product of Infore Archives. It is intended for the archiving of digital data. As a contemporary application with a multi-tier architecture, IEA offers several possibilities for the creation and management of a customised digital archive.
Key features of the software:
- A single archive for the digital and traditional archives. The software application allows the simultaneous administration of both the digital and the traditional physical archive. The traditional archive can contain paper documents, tape recordings and other items.
- Customised configuration of the archive topography. The customer can determine the level of complexity of the system. The application provides the tools for creating a hierarchical topography. It is also possible to define various association relationships between the items, to link to standardised data types, and to group items.
- Interfacing with the business logic layer. The tiered architecture means that exchanges with the application happen on the same business logic layer. Via the web services, customers can create automatic data loading, query and display rules for use of the archive through third-party information systems. At the same time, the data can be administered on the archive tier through the graphical user interface.
- User interface in multiple languages. The language of the user interface of the archive system is chosen by the customer. Based on the prevalent language, the software has an English user interface as a default, but Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian versions are also available. Localised versions in other languages can be created as an additional service. Any number of languages can be used for data entry, for example, with the user defining the languages in which metadata is entered.
- Multi-tier object-based user rights logic. With IEA, you can create user accounts with different roles in the archiving application. In addition to roles, access to archived items by levels can also be defined for each user. If necessary, access rights can be defined separately for each archive item or document.
- Bulk loading. In this system, customers can simultaneously load a large amount of data to the database. Files and metadata can be loaded separately. The preparations for loading are made in the CSV format, to enable the use of different spreadsheet software.
Key benefits of the archive solutions:
- A clear overview of the archived materials. The organisation improves the accessibility of old data by using a universal archive retrieval system that finds items in both the digital and traditional archives.
- Fast data retrieval. The search results of the archive application allow you to immediately access the digital or digitised data. Non-digitised data can be found faster since the information system provides the user with the exact location of the archive item, reducing the time spent on searching.
- Quality of retrieved information. Based on the associations defined between the archived items, the information associated with the retrieved item may ensure better results in terms of the information searched for. Related documents and standardised criteria create a clearer context for interpreting the information.
- Secured investment. The Infore application has a service-based architecture and is built on a traditional relational SQL database. Because of this, the application can be interfaced with very different information systems. If necessary, customers can also stop using the application and store the archived data in another, different system.
